Sorry, not exactly B body related but maybe some of you guys work on the new stuff and might know the answer.

A buddy of mine is standing in a pile of 4.7 stuff trying to put something together and wants to know if anyone has had success reusing the original rod bolts. About all I have found is the bolts are torque to yield and must be replaced, and the bolts are $400.00 from the dealer :black_eye:

Is there an alternative source for bolts at normal prices? What have you done? Perhaps Ford 4.6 or 5.4 bolts are the same, which Summit has.

Maybe PM me for replies so we don't pollute the B body sanctuary with 4.7 talk

Thanks!

You aren't the only one with a 4.7, so others might find the info useful as well

Contact KRC Performance, do a google search for their website and phone number, they have done alot in the 4.7L world of Mopar, they used to offer aftermarket cams, pistons, rods, intakes etc.

I spoke to KRC then passed on the info to my buddy and reportedly he's getting rod bolts for $99.00 plus shipping. That's more like it!!

Thanks for the lead!!

No problem man, glad I could be of some help. I have a 2001 Dodge Motorsport Dakota, 1 of 56 made, that I installed a HO 4.7 out of a Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland in. Its a 5 speed manual with 3.92 gears and it really hauls.
