Terrible!
It's a muscle car, not a rice burner....
Lower a Honda Civic, or air bag and put your 22's a Chevy caprice and roll through So Cal in that....
Leave the classic cars "Classic" is my opinion!

I would also like to add:
I seen a 72 Chevelle at a car show this summer in NC, that had 22" chrome wheels on it and it looked like ****!
I was standing among a few other guys, and we all shook our heads and said what a waste of a Muscle car! I'm not a big Chevy fan, but an Old Muscle car is still worth keeping no matter who the manufacture.
In my opinion, when I see these cars with them big stupid looking wheels on all four corners, I imagine them being in a big box with a plastic window and MATTEL written on top!!!!
They look like some kid should be pushing them across the carpet of his living room!!!! LOL!!!!!!!

I dont imagine it does much more than look outrageous at shows. Still, compared to MOST big-inch wheel cars it's pretty bad-*** looking. Most do look ridiculous, especially muscle-era cars. The later model cars that get 22 or 24+ inch rims look stupid too, but who really gives a ****.

Agreed!!!!! LOL!!!:blob1:

Here's one I saw today but it's going in the opposite direction for you.

I was just looking,I don,t like the clown shoe look myself but don,t mind a 18 rim if it sits right.I like the low down 1/4 mile look

Ya give the guy a break ,everyone has different likes,if we were all the same ,there wouldnt be enough room for all of us

I,m looking for pics ,not your opinion.Leave my thread alone.I don,t like some cars either but is nice to see someone building out of box sometimes

Sorry to have offended you.... Just letting you know how I think it would look.
I'm not looking to make you mad,,, or pick on you.... Sorry if it came across that way.
I just hate seeing people mess up a good classic muscle car with that crap.

there's also something 90+% overlook.....

I was into the 61-64 Lincoln convertibles a while back. I spoke with a guy at Baker's Auto down in CT about the cars. He was laughing at a car that had come in (with 22" rims) and the guy was complaining about the steering wheel wobbling..just a plain bumpy "all over the road" ride.

This guy was an old timer and he explained it like this:

When these cars were designed, (Mopars having with 14" rims, I believe the Lincolns were 15") they oodles of sidewall, that was all taken into consideration. In other words, the spring (or torsion bar) rate, travel distance, shock etc are assuming there will be sidewall flex in the equation.

Take that (side wall) variable out of the equation and you get bent or out-of-true rims. Tiny side walls will exhibit a bumpy ride.

All IMHO and just my .02

Saw this one on ebay. It's a 66 Coronet

Everthing else aside guys, this is a great example of a tastefully done car. Nothing too outrageous, but this guy nailed it....very nice job of the suspension/wheel/tire combo. Not easy to get right. Just my opinion, but that's a sweet lookin' ride!! I'd be a proud owner of that any day...

Very true on the comment, I like the wheel choice. It combines an older look with a newer larger style wheel. Really sets it off.
