My wife wants a Nitro, but she swears that between 2008 and 2011 Dodge shrunk the windows. I have googled pics and I can't see any difference, but she says the front door windows are smaller on the newer models and she thinks she won't like it. It seems that prices on the newer models are more reasonable than the older ones with higher miles.

Going to drive a couple this weekend, but the one I want her to get is an '11 and it's 2 hours away. Nobody has an '11 for sale locally to look at.

Anybody got any insight?

Isn't it the same platform as the Jeep Liberty ?, AWD with out low range 2007 to 2012 present model, they didn't get a favorable rating the 1st couple of years, that's about all I know about them, I do like the name DODGE NITRO

We bought a 2010 Nitro, and me and the wife love it! We don't have any problems seeing out the windows.

As far as I know, it's the same thing as a Jeep liberty, with a Dodge logo on it.

The only bad thing I have to say about it is the road noise, but I can live with it.
We bought ours about a year ago, it's a 4x4 with a 3.7.
We like it!

We live in River Falls, so you can come over and take a look anytime!

Thanks allyoop, never really though I'd see another member so close to home! We wnt to Fury Motors yesterday and drove a 2010. She liked it and no issues with sight lines either. Now we just need to find a black one for her.

Maybe I'll see you @ one of the Sunday morning cruise in's this summer in downtown River Falls?

My boss' daughter bought one a couple years ago.
Got such poor MPG, she had to get something else, and I think left a bad impression of American cars on her.
She's a smart girl, and not an overly agressive driver, but could only manage 16 MPG, which is only 2 more than my Dakota R/T cc with a more agressive driver :)
For the record, my mom's 03 Dak crew v6 gets 18.

I'm usually at the racetrack when they have them, but I think I still made two of them last year. I'll look for you!

Thats the first time i seen one, i like them and the color you have looks great!

im on my second one and love them, they havent changed the window size, and yes they are on the jeep liberty platform and i think they are 5 inches longer,if you buy a used one check out the tourque converter vibration at 50 miles per hour under load.if there is a vibration it has a bad converter.i have the 3.7 and its not to bad on fuel, but you have to remember ,im not going down I-75 in a go kart ,i like the safety,so i will pay a little more for gas

I'm getting right around 22mpg, I don't think thats bad for a 4x4

I had a 2011 Nitro and hated it every moment!!!! you feel your being squashed from the roof line and I'm only 5'8" I bought the 4 litre v6 to conserve gas and HOLY COW!!! the gas milage in it is the same in my NEW2012 Hemi Ram! the nitro has a choppy ride as well and I was haunted with a/c problems. I traded it in and took a $h1T kickin on it but for my own sanity I needed to get rid!!! I love my new ram it rocks!!!!!

I'd say that's pretty darn good considering your wheels are obviously out of proportion AND alignment in that picture! lol:laughing6:

The doors are the same, so is the glass!

I'm a recycler..... trust me...

That's pretty much what I thought, Thanks.

And thanks to all who offered your thoughts.
I have read some reviews, and they say the ride is somewhat "truck-like" and the interior plastics look chincy and inferior. We drove one, she seems to like it.....she better like it, she'll be driving it for years to come!

Was the converter covered under 100K mile powertrain warranty?

I would think it should be covered, it's part of the drive-train... Good luck with the wifes new toy...
