Cleaning out the garage and don't want to throw something away that may be of value to someone.

This is what I have GE 4001. Would the 68 be the date?

Don't know about the date....but if that is a date and they still work, that would be amazing lol

My 68 charger had a 67 and 68 highbeams in it when I pulled them out last year as the were both burned out.

Does anyone really care about the date of a lamp bulb? Don't think....er, I'm sure no one is going to look at a replacement bulb on this stuff even at a concours show. Heck, you'd have to pull them out just to look but if you want to be able to say that you have the correct date bulbs in the car, well, thinking you might get some strange looks lol

Edit: Found two that came out and were put away for my Belvedere and they are 87 and 88. I got the car in 88 but didn't have to replace them as all the lights worked on it.

I personnaly don't care one way or the other about date codes things like this one bit. But, there are people out there like Justin who would get all googled eyed for a bulb with the correct date. Just don't want to chuck something in the dumpster if someone would want them.

There was a discussion about headlight date codes. MN74 showed that the ribs on the lens of early lens were different than later ones. Looked through his thread but didn't go into headlights there. Think you could find a date coded headlight you think is 69 but the ribs in lens aren't like 69s because they are 79's. This may not be totally accurate that's is what I remember.

Thought about the ribs too and have seen some strange ones. Have even seen bulbs installed sideways. Those must be the ones that push on the door where it says pull.....

I've been a judge on a couple of car shows some years back and we weren't checking for correct headlights. It wasn't a concours show but it wasn't a sand lot show either. Are there shows that pay attention to all that?

...And they'll be first to tell you how smart they are!:p
