Hey gang I have a line on a charger but I'd like someone to put eyes on it in real life.
Mostly to verify that it exists, and the general condition.
I'm on the other side of the country!

Let me know, thanks!

Looks like a solid car.

Don't see many Chargers with 318s posted.

Good luck on the sale and let us know how it works out.

Good luck. Looks like a decent shaker hood Cuda in the background too...

Thanks for the input everyone!

Huge shout out to T2R9 who went to go and check out the car for me.

I really appreciate him taking the time to drive over there and inspect that thing. Makes me think I'm in the right community!
Short version is: the car is in decent shape, a "20 foot" driver. Has some rust in the usual places. Paint looks kinda amateur, trans cross member has rust holes, and some rust in the rear. Nothing unexpected. No heater stuff working at all.
Converted to auto trans and it looks like it was done right, all the column shift equipment is there. Not sure what trans is in it.
Anyone ID this? Well it looks like a 727 to me.

I was going to make an offer on the car, but the owner is not budging on the price, claiming it's the cheapest 68 charger for sale right now. Oof but $45K feels a bit steep to me.

I've updated the pics in the first post. Is this worth 45K

I would wait for a California Charger before I pay that.

Do you have to have a '68 Charger? How about a road runner like the one below (I do not know anything about the seller or the car):

1969 Plymouth roadrunner

(Note on above post. Or a Coronet. Same same. Bingo. Great minds....)

This on the OP and his post.
I have a hard time believing you can't find something you want in California. It seems like the best cars to find are on the west coast.
Many smart people are on the investment end of the continuum verse hobby/pleasure end of the scale.
I'm not.
That being said.
A better question might be : "Is this worth 45K to you."
Without having any knowledge of the current market on any particular car type, I'll offer a few ideas based the premise that you don't have unlimited funds and will only settle for a second gen Charger.
1. I'll pay a premium for a car someone else hasn't had their fingers in. And accept more warts in that regard.
2. I'll also tend to take a car with less desirable features but in better shape than a comparable car in worse condition but better features.
3. Because I like to do it myself, and like to know what I'm getting, I'll never again buy someone else's hot rod. This goes back to point number 1.

The bottom line is what the car is worth to you based on what is intrinsic to your particular case.
