Good Advice Whosyurdaddy. I just finished dealing with the same issue. Body man took a scrap piece of metal and drilled a hole on the small side - working up in size, until the clips you have, go through the hole without having to mangle the clip in the process and then hold firmly in place. Although the holes should lineup within the center of your quarter panel vinyl trim, when they are temporarily aligned - between your rear side window's bottom rounded drip rail corner trim and the bottom line of your rear window trim, my body man insisted that the holes not be drilled until the vinyl was installed, just to be sure, everything worked out without any issues. After all was said and done, I installed the vinyl trim myself, making sure to surround the clips with dumb-dumb sealant, to prevent later leaks from these (3) holes, reportedly a common problem, if not sealed properly. I also found, that after you insert the clips into the vinyl trim's rear channel, make sure to space out the clips and square them up with all 3 holes, before palming the vinyl molding home. Not doing so, you might twist 1 or more of your clips sideways, causing them not to go through the holes properly. It was one of those fun jobs. Good Luck!
