Anyone modded the Chrysler/Edelbrock aluminum RB 6bbl intake?

Anyone modded the Chrysler/Edelbrock aluminum RB 6bbl intake? I am absolutely using my 6bbl intake on my future stroker (target 6XX HP and Torque). Although I will defer to my builder's recommendations, I will likely use the TrickFlow 240 heads.
Obviously if my builder wants to use the new max wedge port TF heads he will have to get busy doing some serious mods to the manifold.
Anyway, I doubt that will be the case.
So on non-Max Wedge heads have any of you or do you know of mods to the Chrysler Edelbrock aluminum 6 bbl intake that would work well for my build? Thanks.

La Roy made 590/555 with 440 inches and a small roller on pump gas.

At 1.25hp per cube you are right in your range without any trickery or rocket science. I think just basic port work on the six pack intake will do the trick.

Mopar Action magazine had a 6 barrel intake that they had on some project car. They decided to experiment with it by milling out the dividers between the holes the carburetors sat above. They thought it might raise the HP level. The main effect was a huge loss in torque with almost the same HP as before.

milling the dividers hasn't proven to work on a 6bbl. i would call dave hughes and see about sending the intake to him for port work. i know the FAST guys do stuff. i think dwayne porter works with some of those folks so that might be an alternative to hughes.

Other than opening up the ports and a little work under the carbs there's not a whole lot you can do. They're a pretty basic dual plane with not much of a runner to work on. You could try Wilson manifolds, they could cut it open and do some real surgery.

I spent a few hours one night working on mine with a grinder before I put it in my 511. Seems to do ok!

We built a 440 6 pack with 906 heads, heads were worked a little, intake was worked a little (all he did was match them and for some reason melted the bbl holes in a bit, instead of dropping straight down, he melded them in.
That motor had a roller cam (thmpr) if I am remembering correctly, a real 10.5 to 1, and it dynod 570hp, 440 inches, 6 pack top, motor was a joy to drive too, turned on like a light switch.

Mine isn't an Edelbrock, it's a MP version for a low deck 383/400
I did just a bit of cleaning/polishing up inside,
port matching to my Edel. RPM's
blended it in as far as I could see & reach,
getting rid of any/all the sharp edges etc.
just mostly getting rid of any casting/course stuff...
I did the same thing on my last one too, seemed to work
how much different, "nominal" would be my guess...

I also used some 1" phenolic spacers, some free-fall/tunnel-ram effect
worth a few ponies, across the board & RPM range
not sure you can do that & fit it under your hood...

I do that sort of thing on all my builds even for just beaters/street rides too...
I figure if you got the manifold off might as well do it...

Bioguy, mine was the 440 that LaRoy built. 440 eddy intake. I gad him port it some to maximize it. I also used the 240 TF heads. Let me know if you want more info. 9.9:1 pistons

I pretty much leave it at port matching the intake to the heads and carry that up a couple inches. Beyond that much more work is dminished returns for more investment. The RB 6bbl is a really good peice. It will go to 600hp with that deep port match and a good set of heads, but at that point it's pretty much done.
