I am selling a 10 inch, art carr, heavy duty torque converter. Art Carr is known for its H.D. Performance and race converters and transmissions. This was a high 092.jpg102.jpg104.jpger end model in their converter line. Made for 727 transmissions and has internal balance setup (that can be changed). Ford motor company chose them for there advanced vechile devision and competition off road vechicles. Has all the H.D. Features! Uses roller bearings, burnished hubs, furnace brazed fins, large H.D hemi style mounting lugs, Stall speed was about 2600 RPM in my situation. Art Carr said it would be 500-1000 RPM more stall speed than stock. Like new, perfect, condition. I myself, paid close to $600 for this on sale. I am asking only $300 with free packing and free shipping. Thats 1/2 price! A comparable model would cost you double! I have only one to sell! This is really a nice piece. Pm me if you have any questions. Thanks for reading my ad.

Hello,

It all depends on several factors. In my situation Art Carr said the stall would be in the 2400-2800 rpm range. This is such a cool piece. It has some added stall but because of the fin design it stops slipping at lower load situations (example-light throttle), like a lock up. This in my opinion was the best of both worlds. Added stall to put it in a higher RPM Torque/HP curve, like most performance motors prefer and, when you are light on the throttle, it has less slippage. Also this thing is built like a battleship, very heavy duty. Thanks for your response. If you have any other questions just ask.

So what was the actual stall when in your vehicle, power braking it. You did say it was used right?

About 2600 RPM in my situation. Art Carr said it would be 500-1000 more stall than stock. I put in a motor and a 727 transmission with this converter. I drove it maybe 50 miles, at most. That's why I said almost new. Crazy me I always wanted a manual transmission so pulled the motor and auto transmission/converter, shifter, changed shifter hump and so on...... then put in a manual transmission. I drained the converter, wrapped it in 4 heavy garbage bags, put it in a double box, and stuck it in the garage for a future project. Any other questions just ask.

Can you measure the distance between mounting lugs, center to center, top to bottom. I have a custom built 10 inch with hemi mounting lugs also and want to be sure my hd flex plate will work. Thanks
