what is the purpose of the raised thin stamped steel piece tacked on the inside of the front drum backing plate?
I assume it's some sort of grease cup that catches excess grease that oozes from the inner wheel bearing seal?? When I re-assemble it am I supposed to pack in grease, a foam seal, or just leave it alone (empty)?
I just cleaned up my front backing plates, one side this piece is pulled up and away from the plate. can it just tack it down? (ignore the poor quality of the photo, it was one I had handy on my phone.)
thanks
