Back seat tabs, is there a better way?

After a year without a rear seat in my '72 SSP project car, it is time to put the newly upholstered thing back where it belongs. I can see the two hooks near the package shelf where the top of the back seat drops onto, but I guess some tabs on the bottom are bent and/or missing. Is there a better way than factory tabs (or whatever they are) to secure the bottom of the backrest part of the rear seat? Has anyone replaced those tabs with bolts or some other fasteners? I don't want to be fighting this thing in the future, sometimes I remove the rear seat before road trips to make more room for tools, purchases, and stuff. Thank you.

It sounds like you want to avoid using the tabs, but if you want I can cut a pair off of my 1973

Plymouth Satellite shell.

They do a pretty good job and don't require tools.

Bend the tab over (or between) the rod(s) at the bottom of the seat back, that fum a "U" shape.

The bottom seat will hold the bottom of the backrest in.
