Yep. And I learned my lesson lol. Only way I will ever buy a 62-65 b body is if it is cheap because they are hard to get rid of and don`t bring much.(or when I do my 63 330)

I have had my 63 Dodge 330 since I was 14 AND STILL have it! I bought this to build because I WANTED it. NOT to flip. I flip cars as well but this was to be a keeper. I just changed my mind.I lost money on my 63 but now I can find a home for my 500 inch street motor.

Every car has a time line and it seems the cars under 1964 dont hold there value.I paid good money for my 62 Savoy but I'm going to be buried in it! I love it that much!!!

All I can is you see my 63 in my gallery and wish I never sold it!Had it 12 yrs,got it from my Mopar mentor.He sold it to me,taught me how do it right and my middle daughter helped all the time.Swore I'd never sell.Had 16k in it,some guy bugged me for 2yrs.Laid 20k on the trunk,college for last kid was due.Well you know the rest.2yrs later my wife &kids found my 64 Polara.Its my project now and they said it won't be sold,EVER!Guess its about family.

:confused: Are you looking for a built car for $12K or just a starter?? A hot crate motor alone that fits that description would be at least $12K...

NOPE, I disagree with you! I have a 550 horse 500 stroker. I bought nice race/street cars for 9 and 10k before. In fact that is where my stroker was originally! Here is the car. had 9k in it and it got stolen. The engine was in getting some more mods done to it and getting rebuilt again to run on pump gas. I KNOW they are out there!!!!!! I have the cash and time to wait lol. This is the engine I am putting in a 63 Savoy if I get it. Never the less, they ARE out there. But I will take a complete NICE roller set up for my engine. Since thei clip, it has been all rebuilt and never fired and is on my stand waiting!

So I guess what I am saying, **** is out there. Everyone has opinions they are like buttholes but THEY are out there and there are deals out there to be had. I have nothing but time! If it isn`t a good deal, I will pass and wait!

I guess it all depends on what you want and how lucky you get - or maybe just how lucky period If you find some poor sole that needs to drum up cash real fast and is willing to take a beating on his car that's one way to do it for sure. Actually it is probably the only real way, since building any old car to look nice with even a slightly tweaked stock motor would likely cost far more than $12K.
I know I have well over $10K just in my motor ($6k just in top end alone). And when you add in a good solid rear end, transmission, etc. the drive train alone can run far above $12K.
Good luck in your search. I was just curious what you thought you might find for $12K.
