I am having vibration problems with a 77 440 from a cop car. I know they had cast cranks. I have a TCI street fighter and a B&M external balanced flexplate. Does the weight that is supposed to be on the tailshaft of the trans affect much? Also can a harmonic balancer go bad ? are they one piece or two piece ? I know I need the external balanced one for a cast crank. Somebody told me somthing about a damper with a rubber insert in it could be bad ( bowtie guy ) Any how I am going to take a good look at it in a few minutes and maybe even remove it for inspection.

I pulled off the balancer. It appears to be the correct one. It is a Professional Products 80013. It has the correct weight in it for a cast crank engine 91015. Back to the drawing board !
