I'm looking for a kit for my '64 Savoy 361 to rebuild or replace the trunnion universal joint. The boot is gone and I would like to find parts before I tear into it. I'm not too keen on using NOS rubber that's just as old as the car, but I don't know what my options are.

I've seen several kits on Ebay. I haven't researched which one is best. There is lots of info out there on them, how to rebuild. Search this site first...

I was wondering if the B&T tailshaft can be swapped out for a slip yoke tailshaft?
What ya think?

Along with the b&t output shaft I believe you have a second oil pump also. It would be easier to swap transmissions.

I'm not sure about the swap. I've read about it before, on here, and either it can't be done or its more trouble than it's worth.
Here's a link to a member who changed the setup with a flange adapter. (Post #285)

I'm not worried in the least about useing the trunnion on my '62. Maybe some day I might upgrade to a '65 or newer 727 but for now my plan is to use what I have. And I'm transplanting a 400 plus hp 440 into it!

I been doing some reading, I better get out there and make sure I even have a 727, cause I see there was 904 push button B&T as well. This car came to me with a 360LA engine in so it could be a 904. I need to go see if they even made a SB 727 in push button.
I was asking bout the swap cause I have (2) BB 727 slip yoke trannies.

Your first post says savoy 361. So I figured big block. Whats it got now?

I'm not interested in altering the car, I want to find replacement parts. And I'd rather not buy old parts that will fail with regular use. Like the old stock kits on eBay that are all rusty and pushing 30 years old, going for $130

Andy Bernbaum Auto Parts(oldmoparts.com), rebuild kit #Q-113 $85.00
