Original 340 4 speed car, now with a 360 and auto. Pretty interesting.

Running rich?

I noticed that too,... or burning oil. Wouldn't you think they would clean it up before listing?

Cool car. Sounds like the owner switched it over for to 360 auto for the wife to drive. I did notice he said it had "All original equipment to switch it back over to original" but then specified the "clutch pedal was still installed". Wonder if he still has the original 340 and 4spd. If so, it might be a nice deal.

When I see these ads and the price they are asking for non-numbers matching cars, it makes me realize how good a price I got mine for. Don't get me wrong,.. this car looks like it is in pretty nice shape, but we all know how issues hide, plus when you get into all new interior and cleaning everything up and repainting at least the engine bay (possible motor rebuild..etc, etc)

Mine was WAY cleaner and I didn't pay much more than this. Are these cars really climbing in value like it seems, or are people wanting numbers-matching prices for non-matching cars?

If it's a real formula s the price isn't too far off but I wouldn't buy it. By the time you put a new interior in it, went through the engine, switched it back to the 4 speed, replaced the missing moulding around the rear window (hard to find and expensive) and addressed any body/paint issues, you would have way more into it than it's value. As always, the car is worth what somebody will pay for it but it would be too much for me, I would probably go 8k on it

Looks to be a nice little car . Easy resto I'm not familiar with there prices but if it's a real formula s it's definitely worth trying for .

I'm in the minority here most likely....I prefer the Notchback/Coupe style better.

it is not missing the rear window trim and it is a real formula s

Unfortunately, by the time you get done with that car, you'd be into it for over 40 large. Might as well buy a done car for less.

Yep. If you have the cash. If you dont have all the cash you either borrow some and pay interest or buy the project and bet on the market continuing to rise in the future and stay in the money.
On the other hand if you actually are in it for the love of the cars and enjoy working on them as a hobby...why not?
You can piss away money with cabins, campers, boats, golfing, dysentery on a cruise ship, sight seeing, hunting trips, fishing trips, oversized housing with an elevator for 2 old people, horses, pets, etc. just as fast as messing with an old car.

Just saying..

Aside from the wheels, that is a great looking car!
While not as ugly as a 65 barracuda.
This car is still not attractive. Considering what beautiful B-bodies were made in that same year.

...or enjoy a nice driver real 340 fastback for around 10K.

You may be in the minority Kern, but I'm right there with you. I'm attaching a picture of the Notchback I picked up last year to drive and play with while my Charger is being redone.

My wife really likes the '65's. I have to admit they are really growing on me since she has been pointing them out.

I look at the notchbacks as a mini Roadrunner. Here is a direct side-shot of '67 Notchback Barracuda and a '68 Roadrunner pic I saw online to compare.
