They were giving cars away all day! Check out today's docket, sold cars, on their site. Maybe the "classic car" auctions have reached critical mass.....They seem to have a lot of Benz/BMW/Bentley/etc...type cars.

saw a pretty nice 69 Chevy pickup go for 16K

It’s still early in the week. The nicer cars go through on the weekend for much higher prices.

I know, the first day is always where the "junk" goes through, but in several years of these, today really had some smoking deals, all day.

66 Caddy convertible for $6k, 68 Coronet wagon $10k, Avanti for $5k, Porsche 911 for $22k, several Jaguars in the $2k range..

Yep 1st day is always bargain deals, like wholesale cars
seems the Mercedes & BMW's are bargain priced
many are probably lease returns, have resold again & again
or higher mileage cars, some were over 100k-150k mileage even
Just newer 'used cars', not really a true 'collector car', "so to speak"
British newer used cars Aston, Jags, Rolls, Bentley etc. seem to have the same deal,
cheap & a huge depreciation, like 20% if not less than, what they sold, org prices

Sweet Hemi Charger 500 went for $77k. I hope the seller bought it back,

I've seen some low winning bids on the Mecum auctions this year, compared to 2 years ago when anything MOPAR seemed to be gold.

Ouch!

1967 GTX Hemi, low original miles... $77k
I saw that. Though automatic lowers some. And 67 typically doesn't fetch what 68-70 seems. But does appear there maybe too many now out there. Maybe muscle cars have reached a lull? Trucks might be the newer hot ticket?

WHAT HAVE WE DONE? Some, are saying the newest generation of muscle street are taking away from the glory days?

I forgot what the milage was but it was low. A real piece of history even though it was a '67. I've seen them bring more. 1st and second day probably didn't bring the right buyers in for that one. If it would have been auctioned yesterday, it might have brought more.

Yesterday was nuts with the amounts that they were spending. That lady that wanted the white Viper ended up buying the "Snake Skin" green one. Prices on the Hell Cats!

The Customs were bringing high dollar. The statement was made that you couldn't build one for the price. They're right, maybe because of the cost and turn around on haveing one done it's cheaper. Labor and parts have gone up quite a bit.

I agree the crowd really matters. But there does seem to be a lull in what price is being paid? And not just at BJ. (Lull may not be right word. Maybe price plateau?)

Although, if I remember correctly. The 67 low mile GTX was a survivor. Never restored. Still nice. But not red carpet. One of those still too nice of shape to touch. The big money goes to the ultra restorations. The ones far better than factory.

The restored Muscle cars, whatever manufacturer, didn't bring what a so called Custom would bring. If it was an original car or truck with minor upgrades, they went crazy over it. Especially with those stupid looking wheels and rubber bands for tires.

Sounds like new money has come to town. Along with younger buyers?

Well built desirable pro-touring/resto-mods/customs
were bringing really strong $$$$

over restored trucks have been hot for a couple years now too

Seems like it's just a little correction in the market
muscle cars were still doing well
quality restorations, if they were popular cars still bring big $$$'s
some fads & likes of some buyers "collectors" changing too

always a shitload of Mustangs, Camaros & 70 SS Chevelles
