For Sale: Not Mine BAT 1970 CORONET RT CONV

It didn't sell at Mecum Glendale Mar 10 - Mar 13, 2020 when the bidding reached $50,000.

For posterity:

VIN: WS27U0G232435

Ever since I found out the convertible used the 4 door, and wagon windshield that’s 3” in hight compared to the 2 door H/T and coupe… I can’t unsee it.

The windshield height difference is only one inch. I measured them side by side.

I like it, but I'm a little partial. I do not think it will sell for anywhere near the current bid of 35k. Half tempted to open a bat account to throw In a bid just incase.

One of my favorite convertibles. The front end works with the convt, it seems.

The windshield itself is 3”. Because it’s at an angle it may be closer to an inch in height. But I always wondered why the convertible looked strange to me. It’s the bigger higher windshield. Probably necessary to have head clearance for the retractable bows. BTW… I own a ‘68 Satellite Wagon and a ‘68 Satellite 4 door for over 20 years. I’ve owned my Charger and 2 door Satellite for 40 years. I thought the windshields were interchangeable. The vent wings are also higher on the wagon, 4 door, and convertible. But I did notice something was different looking at the convertible with the top down. At first I was wondering if it was angled differently. It’s just bigger.

I've been keeping my eyes out for the right '69 or '70 convertible and this one checks a lot of the right boxes for me. Most of the holes in the swiss cheese line up here, except my already challenged storage situation, and I really want to see a car I'm considering in person to see if it really speaks to me.
I actually like the color. I've never owned a green car before and quite frankly I've seen enough high impact color Mopars in my 45 years in the hobby that I don't really need to see any more! I do wish it had a white top to go with the white interior, add N96, and I'd be taking the day off from work today to run around my area looking for a place to store another car!

Not that I'm in the market, but the V3X black convertible top doesn't do it for me either.

At least for me, the top color is only a minor issue. I've had my Challenger convertible for 28 years, and in the years I've had it, driven it to literally 100s of area cruises and shows. Car fans around here have seen the car numerous times every year for ages, but you'd be hard pressed to find anyone of them who could tell you what color my car's top is. If it's nice enough to take it out of the garage, guaranteed I'm putting the top down and hiding it under the boot! And it doesn't come up again until I get home later.

One inch difference. One measures 21 inches, the other is 22 inches at the A pillar.
