So I've got a yellow top Mopar restoration battery, and lately there's been white liquid spots on the battery and around the battery area like its being splashed around by the radiator fan. Could the battery be damaged and be leaking (because what other liquid in the motor is white)? It actually looks like its leaking from the negative side.

FYI - Last week I had the bad voltage regulator which wasn't limiting the volts going to the battery so the battery had over 18v going to it. In between testing, in total the battery probably had at most 10 minutes of 18v going to it; not at one time, but multiple seconds at multiple times of testing. The battery still reads 12.5v.

only time overcharging makes a difference is if it happens for a while.boils the acid inside the battery and causes damage.have you filled the battery lately?should be about an inch down from the top inside.if over filled it can come out through the vents.pull the battery and clean up all acid.if battery is leaking there will be a small puddle under the battery when you pull it.if it is just spotting here and there, clean up whole are with a good battery cleaner or acid neuralizer.reassemble and see what happens from there.anti corrosion pads or sealer is a good idea to prevent corrosion at the posts.

The resto battery is sealed and maintenance free, no need to add water. I've cleaned the battery and other areas in the engine bay where the white spots are multiple times, and they come back every time I drive the car.

I guess I'm trying to figure out if these spots signify battery damage and its time to buy another resto battery.

Hmmm
Simply "overcharging" will allow a "boil over" effect on a non-sealed battery BUT:
1. Does it hold a charge?
2. When you place a volt meter on each terminal does it read @14.42 volts?
3. Remove the battery, look for any signs of bulging or distortion to the case.
4. While in your hands, turn battery upside down and notice if any liquid is present.

The bottom of the battery was wet; when I checked the voltage it was only 12.5v; and I didn't notice any bulging or distortion, but will look again tonight.

Pretty sure the battery is toast. The positive side of the battery has a slight bulge, and the seam where the top meets the sides is wet on the negative side. Battery voltage is 12.57, but so is the other battery I put in as a replacement until I get another restoration battery.

Yup
Too bad. They are pricey.
They "Limit" is 11.9 I believe.
If it drops 11.9 or < it's bad.
Okay, Let me know because I'm ready to buy a "resto" for my 70 S-bee
mark

Well currently the battery is reading 12.57v. But I'm not taking any chances having a leaky battery in the car.
