iam relocating the battery in the trunk now from what the mopar bible says there has to be a shut off switch iam trying to figure out where could i mount the switch with out messing up the car (cutting holes in body or bumper) and just to make sure iam doing this right way could anybody tell me how to install the switch i just dont want to do something wrong and spark off a unwanted fire. thanks :wav::wav::hatwave::hatwave:

You only need a cutoff switch if you run faster than a certain time according the NHRA. I dont know what that time is, so someone else will have to chime in on that. My battery is trunk mounted, no cutoff switch, but it's going to be a cruiser and maybe see a track once or twice.

I was told that since my battery was in the trunk I had to have a cutoff switch..I mounted mine to the bumper.Using an existing hole for a bumper bolt...

NHRA rules say that it's manadatory to have a master cutoff for all trunk mounts. Time is not an issue.

Many tracks just don't bother enforcing it for test'n'tunes and street nights.

I agree. We have one only because the wife use to race and it was madatory. Now that it is a street car it is mainly there for show. Since the switch has to be at the back of the car and in a spot that is easy to get to in case of an accident, anyone needs to be able to find it, we put ours where the right side reverse light is suppose to be. No cutting and perfect spot to pass tech at Firebird Raceway.

IHRA book says the same, battery relocated to the trunk must have a master cutoff on the rear of car and marked on and off positions. One of my cars i mounted it under the bumper.

Sorry fellas, I was going by what a friend of mine said when I looking for a cutoof switch for my build, thats why I didnt out one on. My apologizes for the misinformation.
