I know to some this will be blasphemy but has anyone used our know of someone who has used a Wolo beep beep horn? Does it sound the same as the original Mopar piece? Only reason I ask is that it's 1/2 the price of the purple reproduction.

Nothing is gonna sound like the original! My opinion, save the money and get the repop, you have to have the og sound and I love mine.

Sorry to hijack.....but on a related question.... All the Mopar horns are tunable I believe. You can turn that little odd-shaped screw in or out to change the pitch of the horn. I wonder if you can "tune" a standard horn to hit the same note & paint it lavender purple???

It's not like a $90 horn is going to break the bank. It just pisses me off that the Mopar stuff is 3 times higher than the Cheby stuff.

Well, I doubt that's going to happen. My 69 was bought by my father in December of 68. It was my first car, when I turned 16. I've never lived a day without my Mopar, and I don't plan on living any days without it. I've gotten rid of wives but always kept my Mopar.

I believe the Roadrunner horn had different windings as well. You might get close with adjusting the tuning screw but I doubt it will be the same.

Roadrunner horns are completely different than standard hi/low Chrysler horn. The only other horn that is similar to a roadrunner horn is the Sparton Jeep horn and since it was made by sparton, sounds almost identical. It looks just a bit different.

If you ever watch MASH, the jeeps on the show sound like roadrunners! LOL

Very interesting IdriveMopar. Thanks for sharing that little tid-bit.
