bellhousing ???

collecting parts to install a 4-speed in my 1971 big block roadrunner.What casting number for 10.5" clutch do I need?? Every post,article or story I read states conflicting information.
Also will a 833 out of a 70 rr work?

Yep, well now that I think about I'm not sure. But someone will know for sure.
I want to think that the shifter position changed after 1970 but someone will know for sure.

I don't know the casting number (sorry). Have you considered a scatter shield? I've run 11" and 10.5" clutches & stock bellhousings in the past. The 11" clutch bellhousing I had was cast iron (not bad), but the 10.5" bellhousing I had was aluminum...cracked....TIG welded....cracked again... went to a Lakewood which will accept either clutch/flywheel size. Just a thought.

2892513 is for `70-`74 big block B-C-E, tom patti

70 and up trans will work......

Isnt the '70 B trans only one shifter pad? Not sure of that but I thought it was.
The '71 will use the rear E body shifter mount found on 71-74 B/E A833s.

It was thinking that the 70 had two pads but couldn't remember for sure.

Thanks for the information.will a 2892262 cast iron bell housing work? I sold my '71 road runner in '75. Since then I went to the DARK SIDE and had all BBC Chevy s So I have to be retrained

It's a big block 11" cast iron bell for B/C body

As I said earlier the 70 and up B/E trans will work in b/e bodies....

70 and up B/E a833's "ALL" had two pads........
