I am looking for a drawing or picture of the proper belt routing on my 1969 Roadrunner. It has a '71 HP 383 engine in it now. I have on Idea where the original motor is now. The car in question is a factory A/C car but the components are not on the car now. I am in the process of getting the A/C components but have a few questions. Most pictures I see of A/C b-bodies you never can see the complete belt routing. I don’t know if I have the correct pulleys on the engine either. Every time I search for engine pulleys I find the W-A/c, W/O A/C, and W-A/C W/O P/S. Never do I see W-A/C, W/O P/S.
What I have is:
2 grove pulley on alt
1 grove pulley on water pump
4 grove pulley on crank (guessing stock on the 71 engine)
I am assuming that two belts go over crank > A/C pulley > Alt pulley, and the alt will tension the belt.
I am guessing that a single belt goes over the crank pulley > water pump pulley > some sort of idler, and that idler is what sets the tension on that belt.
Any information, point in the right direction, or pictures of the belts on 69 b body with A/C and with out power steering would be awesome.
If there in fact is an idle pulley to take the place of where the power steering pump would go does anyone know where I could find one?
Thanks in advance
