Belvedere ll gas DOOR

My 66 Belvedere ll has a round gas DOOR instead of a surface cap. I have never seen one before like that and was wondering if anyone else has a door also? I checked 67 and they dont have a round gas door either. The 67 Coronet has a square door......any clue?

Custom job...and if you notice, it doesn't follow the body line very good along the center. The original cap actually has a slight curve in it to match the quarter panel's curve....

Yep. Someone probably saw how much an NOS cap was and said

I plan on welding mine over and having the fill inside the trunk....

I have seen a couple with the Charger style flip gas caps, looked pretty good...
