Just wonder which would be the better choice? The car has the 4 piston bendix units but the castings are chipped where the outer seal goes into the casting. There are 2 large bore calipers that came in the trunk of the car.

I expect i could buy 2 used bendix units and rebuild them at carlisle next month?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated,Joe

Do the Bendix Joey...myself i dont like single piston floaters...the physics of the 4 piston is more efficient..plus, bendix has been building aircraft brakes and other aircraft related parts for ever almost. My opinion is Youll get more even stopping power & better limits to fade. But You're going to get varied opinions....im involved with aircraft as well as cars,.....i just think the Bendix will be a better bet

Pre 73 brakes on mopars are generally considered Not very good. 73+ are alot better. Very easy to get parts for and Stop better. But if Originality is your thing then do the bendix.

Z.....You been on G.B.A.(God Bless America lately?) I dont know Bib....i think even force on both sides of rotor is better deal....if not the Benix OEM, then Wilwood or Brembo...and if its BB, then id do wilwood SIX piston w/ 14.5" rotors. Im doing wilwood 4 piston all four corners of bug....dont even have to change out my drilled rotors.

No arguement there. Modern 4, 6 piston Brakes are lightyears ahead of the old stuff. They just werent great designs back then.

I reitterate...Bendix builds aircraft & aerospace gear. Now if its a bendix design..tolerances are going to be tighter, but mabe the mfg is soft. Oh, some one told me that the Kelsey Hayes repops are available at...Kragen? I KNOW Kelseys WORK....the old mans 66 vette had UPGRADE Kelsey 4 pistons....almost anti skid...they were very powerful in a brick of a car.

Well,I picked up 2 more units for $80. So I'm going to make (2) out of the 4 I have and see how she goes.

Thanks for your opinions.

I let you know my results.
It will be in about 1.5 years :).
