Have the cover off and looking to install new seal. Since it goes in from the inside is there a tool you all use to install without hitting on the lip of the seal?
 
Large socket or piece of pipe the right diameter is my redneck way.

Yup, that’s my way too. Doesn’t take much, just make sure the outer lip on cover is flat.
 
Also helps if you throw the seal in the freezer for an hour first. Then it contracts, and gets smaller to go in easier. But keep the cover nice and warm.
