Is black chromium or black chrome powder coating a thing of the past or is still being performed?
I had my rear bumper powder coated in black chrome in north Detroit and can't remember the gents info. He did an excellent job that still stands to this day.

I did with some of my fiberglass parts, both front & rear bumpers
I liked it back then
with the right color of paint (on the car) it can help break it up
or give it some contrast, I had black & red accents already, so it fit

my silver RR from back in 2007, I painted the trim all black chrome
it was all scratched up, so instead of buffing & polishing it
I did scuff the stainless, fixed the dents etc. around the windows,
also the steel chromed bumpers, it helped
(& org. chrome bumpers were pretty rough)
& I used VHT (IIRC) translucent Black chromed clear, with a layer of clear over that
I had a lot of good compliments on it,
I did it pretty light coat, like just a 'smoked' (tinted) look
more coats the darker it will be...

Real chrome was too much at the time...
