Just thought I would spread a little cheer today with this story that just happened today.

after getting gas for the RR I was waiting at a light and saw a nice hugger orange 69 SS 2 cars behind me waiting at the light.

We turned left and by instinct I pulled to the right lane and waited to see if he would pull to he left. Well at the last minute I changed my mind and decide to head home instead so I had to pull in front of him.

We sat at a light that has a long straight away in front of us and waited for the traffic to clear and the light to turn green. In my mind I was thinking, heck I'm just going to cruise home.

Well I looked back and I could see him shifting into gear and looked like he was getting ready to romp on it and I thought he is going to try to go round me right off.

Not having any of that when the light turned green I hammered it in first and left that sob 10 cars lengths behind me lol the whole time tires letting loose and hardly grabbing.

I hit second gear and was at about 120 and hit 3rd just before 5k then realized I had to slow down or I wasn't going to be able to stop at the next light lol.

I looked back while I was hitting third and could see this guy trying desperately to hit any gear he could to catch up.

I got to the next light and it is a 2 lane left turn I got in the right lane and he swept into the left fast pulled up next to me and said hey man I am impressed! I said why what's up and oh by the way sweet ride love the orange and cowl hood.

He said i'm impressed because not too many people are able to pull away from me like that and said oh really? wow guess you just got smoked then and smiled, then I asked what engine are you running and he says a 403 stroked or something I really didn't give a **** I just blew his *** away lol.

But being a gentleman I explained that I have a 500+ hp 493 stroked 440 and his arms go up wildly saying oh no wonder big block.

We mutually exchanged pleasantry's and went on our way.

I get home and run over to my neighbors house to share what happened and he says oh yeah I know that car east bay muscle cars built it for him I think he's got 40-60k into it they put in a stroker motor and a tremec 5 speed and we laughed as my 25 footer project MOPAR just smoked a 40k SS camaro.

End of story but since we are having good weather and I am in total Mopar mode I wanted to share this with you guys and gals :)

Enjoy your Saturday! go tear them a new one ;)

Yeah! That's worth talkin about.

Ha! That's AWESOME!

i gotta send this link to a camaro buddy of mine...

DEFINITELY COOL.... ATTA BOY BIGMAN .... im so glad you smoked him....i cant begin to tell you how much i HATEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE 69 Camaros....(vomit)

It's funny cuz I love cars but Camaro's have always been the enemy so beating one sure makes my day. I would have just putted away home and not said anything but like most Chevy guys he had to make the claim of not too many pull away from me, I should have said well then you don't race too many Mopars then do you? lol

Anyway for got to mention while at the light to turn left a guy in a truck rolled up looked us both over and said hey you guys gunna run'em or not and I said we already did and when he said who won I just smiled and said Mopar baby! :)

That is probably more true then you know, Its always been that way where i live, Back in the old days with cruising with your gal and street racing more then we should have, It was exactly like that and im real glad that back then i was one of two who drove Mopars, And the baddest guy around had a 72 Camaro that he refused to go against my RR! Ill never forget it and my wife and i talk about it with some past friends of those good old days. To be perfectly honest, Im afraid he had a good chance at beating me, He built the engine and it did run on racing fuel and i rode in it, it was a bad car and im pretty sure my RR might have grunted, but hes gone and so is both cars, but it sure makes me happy to have the memory's. Thats the only time i had a car to be reckoned with. Thanks for posting this, my wife and i really had a good time back in those days and ill be sure to tell her about this, she will be happy to know what beat it..

I'm across a bridge or two, but I think I heard the squealing tires as you blew him away. Well done!

Well done Bigman, I love to see Mopars represented well, I'm not a Camaro or Chevy hatter, at all, I had some very fast BB & SB Camaro's, street & race cars in my time, but still Mopar is my 1st love... Good story Bigman, putting away a guy, who paid $40k to have his ride built, by a guy who built his own, is the best part to me, regardless of make....

As bigblock 440 said: "I hate Chevys before it was cool to hate Chevys"
I've hated them since 1964-ish.
I'll bet 100 percent that Camaro is not a "SS" either!
Ha Ha! Foolish Camaro!
