BMW Buckets with Integrated Belts Anyone using them?

Title says it all. Know there will be some fab work for the rails and need to bolster the floor a fair bit. I like the seats in the BMW and can get a complete leather set in good condition everything working for a good price. Need to replace the bench in my 64 440 .

Pretty cool. I'd like to see how much floor fab is needed. What kind of BMW?
 
Mid 90's E class convertibles . Frame ties plus more (doubling up floor pans?) I don't know. Why I posted up see what others have done when using seats with integrated belts. Rather not invent the wheel if someone worked out the bugs already. Should it ever be needed the floor connection will be taking a lot of force and not much point if they rip out.
 
I was going to do the Sebring Ragtop seats years ago. The problem was not mounting, but the electronic inertia part. Varied by vehicle year.
 
Tried yanking the belts with electric connection disconnected and both sides would lock up. So feelin' pretty good about using the seats. More interested in what people did to make the floor sturdy enough to handle the forces an accident would put there. Yeah there is good info out there on bypassing the sebring , involves a fair amount of wiring. Like the BMW's better, though a decent set is around $600+ from the pickers. Heated, adjustable lumber support, full electric adjustments, reclines, real leather. Lots of Sebring's in the boneyards though... http://www.corvairkid.com/sebring.htm
 
This safety study concluded modern cars with SIRS (seat integrated restraint systems) are as safe as regular shoulder belts. And they quite conveniently provided us with a list of SIRS cars. See Appendix B at the end of the article or just click on the attached PDF that I clipped that shows only Appendix B. I'm eager to see which seats most of you favor...
