Brain fart - glove box lock

I don't recall how these come off - I've done one or two in the past, but can't recall the trick - two screws out then .......
 
Just an FYI, i had to put latch had to be in closed position as instructed and I had to insert the key and turn to the locked position, then take the key out before i could depress the little tab in there, didnt see this mentioned in the link above, just wanted to let others know in case you cant find that little tab! Came right out!
 
Possesed Glovebox

I have a '69 Charger, the glove box 'pops' open once it shifts past 1st gear. I tried to move the lock into different positions but it happens over and over.

Any thoughts what might be causing it to do this?

weak spring on retaining latch. I tried to shim mine, and usually left it open, because that is the way it just wanted to be, LOL...

The OP didn't state what year, but my 69 had 2 screws, then just pulled out.
