Brake Booster Replacement

I have a 70 RR with 4 speed and need to remove the brake booster and have it rebuilt. Looking under the dash it is real hard to see all the booster mounting bolts and also removing the bolts to the pivet arm on the brake pedal. The clutch pedal and push arm and steering column is making it hrd to get to bolts. Is there an easier way to get to the bolts on the pedel and the booster mounting bolts.

1/2" deepwell socket with a swivel on a long 18" extension for the mounting bolts.
A Gearhead rachet closed end wrench works well in the rod bolt.
 
I've found deep socket to be too deep to clear the ratchet end on the steering coulmn.

What I use are "medium" depth sockets.

Kinda hard to find, but Stanley makes them, and I think wal-mart has them.

This and wiper linkage have got to be the most uncomfortable jobs to do on these cars.
 
What we are saying is the with the right tools it is not that hard. Takes me about 10 min to pull a booster/master but I've done it a gazillion times over the last 35 years. Just pulled one a couple days ago.
 
It really helps to pull the driver side seat out so you can lay flat on your back in the car too.
 
Really would of it been that hard to engineer it like brand X to bolt on from the engine compartment?Kind goes along with that a$$inine starter bolt set up.
 
I LIKE the starter bolt/stud setup on Mopars.

No shims, and you don't have to hold the starter up for nearly as long while you try to start the bolts.

It's been quite a while since I worked on GM power brakes, the booster bolts/nuts are accessable from the firewall side??

I've always thought it would save a TON of time if the heater cores were accessable behind a simple sheet metal panel, that bolted to the firewall from the outside.
