Hello Everyone, I'm new here and need some help...please. I'm trying to add power disc brakes to a '69 RR and have some issues with the Bendix dual diaphram booster that I have. The rod that connects to the brake pedal linkage measures 4.5" from the back of the booster to the center of the pin. I've been told that the rod I need to fit this car/booster setup should measure 3.2". I bought an adjustable rod but need help on how to change it. I've been told that the rod is held in place by a rubber o-ring inside the booster. I've checked the service manual and it isn't real clear on how it comes apart. I tried pulling on it and twisting as I pull, but its not budging and I'm afraid I'm going to break the plastic sleeve on the booster. Is this the way to remove the rod or does the booster have to be disassembled? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome. It just pulls out, and sometimes it can be a real bitch
