Brake interchange

I am swapping out the 9 1/4 (bad ring gear) in my 69 Satellite station wagon to a 8 3/4 and need backing plates and brake set up for the 8 3/4. Will the backing paltes and brake hardware interchange as I have rebuilt all of the brakes on the 9 1/4? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

As far as Ive ever heard yes they will.

9 1/4 in a 69 Sat?? Hmmmm, I don't think so from the factory. Could it possibly be an 8 1/4"? I believe the brakes from either rear end will fit.

Meep, you are correct about the 9-1/4. No telling what was done to this wagon, it has a whip *** trailer towing bar, with air shocks and obviously they installed the 9-1/4 at the same time. I would leave it if it didn't have a tooth missing.
