I just converted from manual to power brakes. Disc/disc. Now, the brake light switch is too short and the brake lights are on all the time. The switch is threaded out as far as possible. Has anyone run into this? If so, what switch should I get that will resolve it?

This is on a '64 Plymouth Belvedere wagon.

Thanks!!

A picture would be helpful. But I imagine a solution would be as simple as bending up a new bracket that brings the switch closer to the pedal arm. Or you could tack an extension block on the face of the pedal arm.

Hey mate, I think the switch bracket has a bit of slop in the holes that mount it, and if not you could file/dremel a bit extra in the direction you need.

I had to do this when I replaced my dud switch with a generic part that was a bit shorter than original.
