Brake Pedal Spring on a 65 Belvy

Hey guys. Is there supposed to be a return spring on a 1965 Belvedere brake pedal? I see holes in the arm for what looks like there should be, but there is no spring in place. Thanks for your help. Scott

No spring on the brake pedal! The only one is on the brake rod
