This car has never been waxed or polished it's whole life, and looked like someone washed it with sand paper. Me to the rescue!

I've never used this product before (Turtle Wax Black Box) and figured this would be a good car to test it on. The cleaner, wax and detail spray is black, looks like paint.

The outcome:

Notice the difference that the pre wax cleaner is already making? man this paint was rough.

After wax

Still some scratches in the paint, the customer didn't want a cut polish or wet sand with it..

Turtle Wax Black Box.. I APPROVE!

I'm impressed. As an owner of a new black car thanks for testing it out so I can buy with confidence now! Big difference in that paint now, nice work.

wow!!! that is impressive!!

my buddy has about the same impala, black and everything...it's not AS beat up, but could use a freshening.

you do it with a machine?

Yeah I used an orbital buffer on the lowest speed, instructions on the box are for doing it by hand but says the buffer can be used.

Just make sure after your buddy washes his car to give it a good rub down with a clay bar to get rid of any contaminants on the paint and leave a nice smooth surface.

It's about a 4 hour job including wash/clay bar, but if you don't have much experience take your time! it's worth it.

Thanks Doba! yeah, im relatively well versed with paint...the clay-bar is your friend! lol

he just bought it like 3 months ago, and i've been pushing him for us to give her a good paint cleanin'!

im going to show him this thread and he'll finally be convinced!

Thats some great stuff there, never heard of it ill need to tell a son in law of this, looks like new again!

Unfortunately the car is going onto a car lot Monday so I won't be able to keep track of long term results, like all wax it washes off eventually. But for getting your black car looking good for a show I definitely recommend it.

nice job on that. black is theeeeeee hardest color to keep nice looking.

That looks great, very impressed. I wonder if that stuff would work on all dark colors or just black.

It should be fine on any dark color, Dark blue, Burgundy etc.

If you really want to make a big difference lose the orbital and get a DA polisher. Yellow pad for cutting, Black pad for polishing and blue pad for wax.

Nice work !~
