I have a new 73 RR GTX 440. It came with the windshield sticker and from a family that held it 30 years. It went to a collector for the last 10 and now me.

I checked under the back seat, in the springs of the front seats and in the springs of the front seat backs today without success. Next up is to pull the sill plates and look under the carpets also behind the kick panels. The car has an after market player inside the glovebox so I think the kick panels and top of the glove box are unlikely.

As I understand it, as each car was checked off, the completed build sheet was stuffed into one of these locations? Any idea where under the carpet?

Its a Canada car and I caught a thread that they tossed the build sheets up there? As the car is highly optioned and the family that kept it 30 years and knew enough to keep the windshield sticker would have retained the build sheet as well --if there was one.

Thanks for your help--Chuck

Have you tracked down the family or collector? They might have known where to look also and kept it for their own records.

I can assure you we didnt toss the build sheets during production,i worked there,if they are not in the seats or under the dash or glove box, some one has removed them.Hope you find some. For sure look under the carpeting. Paul

I'm really surprised that anyone finds the build sheets. I had a Demon in high School and I removed the rear seat to run some speaker wires and found the build sheet. I just threw it out the door and proceeded with running my wires.

The remark above that Canadian built cars didn't put the build sheets in the cars is incorrect. However copies of build sheets on the Canadian cars are not available from Chrysler.

Another location has popped up. Anyone hear on top of the gas tank as a possible location? I'm not looking--after 40 years probably nothing left.

I made contact with the family that owned the car for 30 years--will talk to them this evening. Many interesting questions--how was the car driven? maintained? garaged? different rear ratio (window sticker to trim tag) and build sheet?

Also unusual car 440 slapstic with 3.91 suregrip, loaded with comfort options and A/C. Hopefully bought to play red light BINGO and not a lot of trips to the dragstrip. Also gas crises in 73?

I can confirm they did come on top of the gas tank. I had a 71 R/T Charger and that's where mine was. It was in fine shape however, because it was between the tank and tank pad. I have also found them under the carpet on the passenger's side.

The 73 RR I parted last year was under the carpet on the passengers front side.
