C body oil pan in B body

I have a 933 BB oil pan and was wondering if I might be able to use it on my engine in my 66 Belvedere II? Roseville says this about the pan,http://www.rosevillemoparts.com/reference_enginetrans3.php
933 3751934 1974-1978 C 400 440 Some Deep pan, ill-suited for A/B/E-bodies, Strainer 3577789, but doesn't say why it is ill-suited. Thanks

I believe that is the C pan that the B center link drags across.

Nope won't work. You need to get a correct B Body oil pan. C Body's cross member...no k members on the C's...are located differently. The 402 pan will work for ya...

I re-read your question and just realized that it's a 66 belvy. I have a 68 GTX and the 971 works on mine. not familiar with the undercarriage of the 66's. i would assume it would work, but im not sure. maybe somebody else can chime in and confirm.

I think it would work, but I was just on Summit web site and they have their copy of the 402 pan with the correct pickup for under $125. Thanks

Here is a good reference page (I think) and does specificaly state that the 933 pan is ill suited for Bbody
