c.b's

Had one in my Ramcharger 4x4 but the antenna's kept hitting when I pulled it in/out of the garage.

10-4 Good buddy. I had one in my 73 3/4ton Power Wagon. Used to gab with the truckers on the way to camping, hunting, fishing, etc.

I had a 76 Ramcharger with a CB. I'm beginning to see a pattern here.

I put one in my 74 Road Runner. The folks at the car shows got a real kick out of it. They would see the antenna on the rear, and just had to look inside. They would stick their heads in and say "he really does have a CB in there!" :)

I've also gotten a lot of great comments from truckers as I've driven by, but the heyday of the CB is definitely gone. Used to be you couldn't get a word in edgewise, and now most of the time there's no one on the air.

Yeah I bought a vintage one for the Satellite, but I have yet to install it. I was kinda going with a police detective's car vibe.

In the meantime, I've been using my phone's scanner app plugged into my sound system to monitor police and other frequencies.

Heh heh. I put a CB in my first car, an '89 Honda CRX. Used to talk **** with truckers all the time. I'm too picky about my Charger's original dash to put install anything on it now that isn't original. :)

Vintage CB sound cool but the bold above sounds really intriguing 696969. Mind you I don't have a fancy cell phone but may get one in the future.

I too, had one in my Ramcharger. But that was in 1976

Me too an old Cobra 40 channel I think it was, on an old 78 Plymouth Trail Duster 4x4 400ci 4 speed, in Palmer Alaska mid 80's, long before cell phones, you really needed something, out in the middle of nowhere, off the beaten path, hunting, fishing or camping etc. or if something ever happens, our your just Bear or Wolf bait or freezen your butt off... rarely ever used it thou

CB's should make a comeback. Ticket for talking on cell phone but not on CB. Had one in my 73 Blazer and 79 Suburban. Also Had the portable one with the hookup for the tall antenna. Haven't seen it since first divorce. Still have antenna. I miss that handheld 40 channel:sad5:
