Cal Trac issue

Has anyone ever had the cross tube above the spring lose a snap ring. This happened to me and allowed the shaft to move about half way across the spring. With a launch or three the entire unit was bent and twisted. There was about a quarter turn of preload on the spring when this happened. I'm worried about straightening the parts and reassembling for fear it will just happen again. Any thoughts or ideas. Thanks Dave

Thank You. I sent them a message this AM. On pictures, I removed this from car so I have two twisted plates and a missing snap ring. The aluminum cross piece looks fine. No damage in snap ring gutter. It looks like when this happened it also stressed the left side inner snap ring as it looks pulled into plate where it is leaning like it wants to depart also. I was thinking about securing with graded bolts and washers and lock nuts. I will wait till I visit with them. Dave
