i have a 71 ssp with a 383. when i rebuilt the top end i swapped out my cam with cam from my grandpa's garage and was under the assumption it from a 68 rr and i am almost positive it had white on it, (or a white dot). its been a few years so i'm not sure. anyone know anything about this cam, or if i'm not remembering right

it has been a long time but we measured a bunch of big block mopar factory cams and most of them where the same from a 66 imperial 440 to s 68 383 hipo a 77 440-1 truck motor to a 79 400 cordoba not a one was any different

Do you have calipers? Measure the cam lobe at its lowest point, then measure at its highest point. Subtract. Multiply that total by 1.5 for theoretical valve lift. Around .450 is the hp cam, around .430 is the lesser cam.
