Camshafts??????????????

I like lunati, I will never go comp cams again too many problems but I might have just been unlucky.

comp cams are great, if you like working on your stuff a lot. i'm stuck on engles for their reliability, but there are other good cam grinders.

4 replies, 4 different cams. I don't think that was what you were hoping for.

I like my Engle cam. They've been around forever. They are great guys to deal with too. They even kind of have a secret menu (like In N Out Burger) of grinds that they will tell you about if you give them a call.

But I might even try a Racer Brown some day just go really old school.

Hughes Engines Cams are all I use. They at one time were ground be Engle. Not sure about now though....

I believe Engle is out of business. I bought a T-shirt and a small block cam from them a little over a year ago out of their left over inventory. I believe the son was liquidating what little was left.

You can put me down as a Lunati fan.

ive never had the need for a custom grind. So the purple shafts have always worked well for me

Lol, i think in reality, all the above are reliable and quality cams. I read somewhere that all cam blanks come from only a couple of makers and the cam brands either grind them themselves or just send over their proprietary grinds and have them ground for them.

Comes down to who has a grind you love. I've had my eye an a spicey little Howards number for some time now.

Nothing but Comp cams for me. If I buy them new. I have had numerous solid lifter and solid roller comp cams in lots of different cars not had a bad one yet. I had at one time three purple cams out of different motors and different people's cars that had flat lobes on them on my shelf. I kept them as a reminder.

if you had 3 purple cams go bad i would question your brand of oil.

I have a custom ground comp cam in my car no problems runs great

I have used both lunati and comp, currently run a lunati... Break them in right and should be no problems, with either,

Same here.....Lunati Bracket Master 2 in my Coronet, Comp Xtreme Energy in my bird. Never had an issue with them or the cars/cams before then.

Mostly I ran the MoPar cams and always had great luck with them. I also ran Isky in my old 383 with good success and currently have an old Isky 1012B roller that I will use soon. And yes, this is the roller version of the grind that Dick Landy used in his 69 super stock Charger that won, I think, the 69 Winternationals. I have a Crane in my Olds powered jet boat and it's flawless. Other people I know ran Crane in Fords with great success. In my last Ford FE build I ran an Edelbrock and it sure woke up that 352.
