Can a leak in the oil pan gasket be fixed without pulling the engine?
I really know the best way is to replace the gasket but what a job on a B body.
Also can the pan gasket be replaced with the engine in if you remove the tranny?

remove steering center link from pitman arm, idler arm, and one inner tie rod end...then swing center link out from under pan, then oil pan is easily removed without pulling engine or trans...not sure why you would even think about trans removal

Like A383Wing said removing the oil pan is a fairly easy job.

I know I'm asking for abuse, but......except on a 67 Camaro small block 327....pain in the ars!

The camaro pan would be easier than pulling the oil pan on a 66 Dart with a small block in it....just changing a starter motor is a pain...

I can have the oil pan off and back on a big block "B" body faster than getting the starter out of a V8 "A" body

The hardest part about removing a BB oil pan was the bolts in front that are tight around the K member. I think there is some complication with the oil pick up too but it is doable. Might have to jack up the motor. Oil pan removal on a small block Ford in a 68 Mustang wins hands down.

Do the job right in the first place.

the oil pick up makes no trouble... removing the oilpan on a B-Body car is fairley an easy job ! Did it last winter....
