This is an all chrome road wheel for 67-68 B body and I would like to know how to read the date code. In case you can't see the pic it says:

14 x 5 1/2 - JK made in
USA

(round logo here) M(4?) (up side down J) 841C
8

My guess is the 8 would be 68?? All 4 wheels have the same J841C and M48 number. I have a 68 RR and would like to keep a set that would be correct for the car's production date, which is April 68 I think.

The date codes are not there, they are on both sides of the valve stem hole.

I just went out and looked on two wheels and didn't see anything near the valve stems, inside or outside.

Thanks for the quick reply by the way!

On the chrome wheels it is very possible it won't show through the chrome.

believe it- there is a date code

Those wheels are 1968 wheels. The M4 8 ( 8 indicates 68)
The 841 is on all the same manufacturers rim.
The chrome wheels didnt come with the size or date stamped by valve.

The year stamping started around Feb 1967 on steel wheels.

I have observed 100's of wheels in detail, to learn this sort of minutue.
No hear say here, or reading Hot Rod mag, hands on baby.
