I bought a 69 Coronet a couple weeks ago and have to temporarily keep it out doors under a cover until my new garage is complete. I bought a $60 cover from Autozone that was designed for pickups and claimed to be waterproof. Surprisingly it fits but not slightest waterproof. 2nd attempt bought one from Ebay for $45 that claimed to fit my year make and model. Nice cover, is waterproof. But, only stretches half way down the sides of car. Can someone please recommend one that they bought. Is waterproof and drapes over the entire car. I don’t want to strike out 3 times, lol !

Just my opinion but since it's temporary you could just try some Scotchgard on the one you already have. Some "waterproof" covers will not allow the cover to breath and actually trap moisture which is not good. I think the real benefit to a cover is UV protection which is as much if not more damaging to a paint job than moisture.

Just set up a tent garage. Last one I bought was $300. After your garage is done you will find many uses for the tent garage. Picnics, yard sales, paint booth, etc... And when you tear it down it takes up little room.

They have clear disposable ones that are great for waterproofing. About $15.

I have a tent garage which I’ve thought of that route. But, it gets extremely windy here at times during fall/winter. I might try the clear plastic cover.

You could also check with California car cover.

Do not, I repeat, do not use any cover that is not breathable. It will trap moisture and condensation which will result in internal corrosion.

We’re not talking years here bud.

What are trying to protect your car from? If it’s the sun/uv and /or dirt, leaves, and bird poop then use the breathable one you bought. If it’s rain and snow then use the tent garage you already have. Using a non breathable type like a tarp or plastic will probably do more damage than not covering at all.

You could rent a garage if you don't think you'll use the car cover once your new garage is done.
