Since im new to this whole thing I have a few questions to make buying my wheels tires and brakes a little easier.I am going with 3.55 gears which is a recent decision in an 8.75 rear end, 69 satellite,if I want bigger tires in back and smaller in front, what size rim and tire should I go with? Also my last ??? can somone explain backspacing to me?

Back spacing is the distance from the brake to the inner wheel well.

My 68 Coronet I have 10 x 15 wheels with a 5" back space. with 275. 60.
It keeps the tires tucked nicely inside, and not sticking out.
Not sure what kind of back spacing a 69 Satelite will take, but I'm sure someone will chime in and let you know.

Backspace is the distance from the inner mounting surface of the wheel to the inner lip of the wheel. The deeper the backspace, the deeper in the wheel well it will sit. If you go too deep on the backspace, the tire might hit the leak spring. Too short of a backspace, and the tire might hit the inner fender lip. If you want a more traditional look, you can go with 15x8 wheels on the rear, and 15x7 on the front, both with 3.75 to 4" backspace. For tires, a good match is 275/60-15 rear and 235/60-15 front. That is what we just put on our 69 Super Bee.

What size tire/rim combo would be good for 3.55 or 3.73 gears,if I wanted the tire size staggered? And thanks for the tips so far sweet super bee!
