thanks for the help I guess I need to buy a few colors to test :)

Could also be 71 b5 blue, ppg code #2306. It's hard to tell from a photo on the computer. Lighting plays a big part too. Best way is to pick a few colors and have your paint guy shoot test strips.

Im beginning to think more and more its a modern paint. Maybe 2009 deep water blue.

i think it is B5 Blue Fire. I just repainted my engine bay on my 70 Satty with it. The new pearls they put in the current mixes for the 70 B5 blue is a lot crisper than the original B5 metallic back in the 70s even though same colors. I will try and post a pic for you to compare.

hummm that does look close, but a bit lighter. Do you have a side shot? I think florescent lighting might affect change in color also.

yeah, after I looked at the pic, it did look a little odd under the light. PM me with your email and I will mail to you along with the paint code if you want. It is the 70 B5 blue fire color, but it is significantly brighter and cleaner, if thT makes sense, than the original color.

I know very little about that car. It is for sale on a website and I came across it by accident. I think what I like about the color is it isn't dated. The lighter, silvery blues to me are right if you are building a stock old school car. But i want a modern protour. The new blues are either luminescent (glowing) or too dark, almost black. I am looking for a transitional blue. Not to dark and not to light.
I'm leaning now to Jamaica blue as that color.

I think 17" rims would be perfect. My builder wants me to get 18" but i want meat on the tire (with lettering) and 18 may be a bit to big.

here's mine for a comparo...'68 QQ1. looking at it again, mine does seem a tad lighter.
