Was looking at this kit, unless there is a better option.Yep not a bad job either, buy quality American made parts! I use a pair of home made slide hammers to remove the front pump assembly, just make sure you put a new seal and bushing in for the converter too. I would recommend good trans grease/ lube for sliding it back in the case .
If you try good luck. Can the front pump be pulled with out any other disassembly of the transmission? I have a leak in the front of my 727, and not sure if I should just put in a new front seal, or pull the pump, and replace the seal and gasket.

I had to replace one when the guys who removed the engine of my car without removing the TQ.Once the seal has been removed you can see the pump bushing with a flashlight. If its good you can just install the seal itself. If you question if the issue could be the pump bolt washers, pump O ring or pump gasket then remove the pump. Never had any issue with generic rebuild seals, gaskets, or bushings. I build quite a few.

There are easier ways like do it the way our forefathers ment .Need to time travel 54 years. I imagine they hoisted it up so oil pan clear K- member. Wouldn't be any different than having a bellhousing on it. Plus no radiator in the car it stolen.
