Can anyone tell me the length of the carburator rod for a 1967 383-4v engine? Pictures I have seen shows the rod with a slight bend. Mine is straight and may be short. Can't seem to get the right adjustment. If I need a new one where can I obtain one. Thanks.

Think we need a better description. Metering rods are straight, all the time.

What carb number off the tag would be nice
67 is one of the few shop manuals I don't have so can't look the spec

67Sat are u talking about kick down rod to carb? There is a slight bend towards the rear of it.

Yeah, I think we need clarification. There are a lot of "rods" on and in a carburetor.

Ok here's my problem. First I may have the wrong kickdown down linkage. Second the throttle cable is too long. I just purchases it from Mancini racing and it's for the correct car/engine combo. Can anybody steer me in the right direction. So far I have purchased 2 throttle cables and both seem not right. The length on the one in the picture is approx 22". Any suggestions??? Pictures are attached.

My ‘68 is 21” long, also your k/d rear slot should be up against the throttle stud.

There should be adjustment at three different places on the kickdown linkage. The horizontal rod that your photo shows, also on the vertical rod between the two bellcranks, and then the short rod to the transmission lever. (I'm going by the '69 version, maybe '67 is different)

Have you used all the adjustment on all of these?

As for the throttle cable, there should be a clamp at the back of the intake manifold next to the bellcrank. The metal part of your throttle cable goes in that clamp, it is adjustable back and forth for proper length of the throttle cable. The excess just hangs along the firewall.

I just took a look at the '67 Dodge service manual to check on the kickdown linkage. It appears you are correct, you have at least one wrong piece of linkage. Your photo shows the horizontal link as "straight", whereas the service manual shows that horizontal piece having a slight bend in it as oldbee stated. Maybe someone fabbed up that piece before you got the car?

I have a 1967 service manual and the kickdown linkage has been adjusted as such. I did notice in the picture the linkage did show a bend as mine was straight. I think I may have to try to loocate one. As far as the cable I did try to adjust it at the clamp but it's too stiff and has nowhere to go/hang. I believe it's about 4" too long. Thanks for the help.

Also I think w/o that bend ur linkage might bottom out before it gets to maximum travel.
