Is there a way I can remove the gas pedal from the floor and reattach it on top of my new carpet?

I see there are bolts coming through the floor board but I don't see a way to get to them?? Capt. Obvious will probably answer.

Thanks

Take off the nuts under the floor. The studs are part of the pedal assembly. Be sure to use some penetrating oil before loosening them or they could break off.

The studs for the pedal are fused into the pedal assembly and protrude through the floor board. You will need to get under the car and remove the nuts. The pedal assembly then lifts out from inside the car.

Here is what the bottom of the pedal looks like if it helps you picture what you are doing a little better.
