FWIW
I ran across Relicate while searching for automotive interior materials. I requested a sample and they sent it to me for a nominal postage and handling fee of $1.99 USD.
It is a short loop pile and looks pretty nice. The overall thickness is roughly 2.5 times the thickness of a U.S. nickel coin.
The backing is thin and is pliable in multiple directions. The sample I received will relax back to flat after curling/folding it. It doesn't seem to take a permanent set at all.
It would easily cover a rear package shelf without being tacky looking. I'm considering using it as the flat floor covering in a hatchback car.
It would make a nice covering of the trunk floor too after adding a little bit of padding like Chrysler used in their Cordobas.
