Cars going for little money

If it's not full of bondo and hidden rust, it's a steal.

Buyer's market. More cars, than buyers. It'll be a continuing trend as the older folks die off.

Vin on dash matches data tag and motor

but does it match the body?

Maybe the owner and his wife had a dispute and she gave him the riot act. It is priced for a quick sale.

I agree with missive. The market is changing especially for car that are done so to speak. The younger generation doesn't have the interest or the money.

Well, I have been looking for a 70 roadrunner project as I couldn't afford a nice car. Should I just hold out for a couple years and double my budget to get a done car? Or do y'all think a better economy is over the horizon and prices will go back up?

I think if the economy improves and the stock market has a good year prices will be more solid and maybe even rise a bit. It's most often a better bet to buy a car that's done over a project. Parts never seem to go down, if fact they continue to rise as they get more scarce. IMHO I would wait and buy a finished car unless you really want to go through the work of putting one back together. Some people love that challenge. Some people do it out of necessity. A project car almost always cost more than a done car these days. With the exception of some very rare cars.

runners and bee's are going up in price
just ask the few that are looking for a good car on here
a lot of junk for under 30k
that looks to be a deal if it checks out
but with no underside or naked trunk pics
i'm guessing it isn't as nice as it appears to be..

Remember what jacked the costs of popular muscle some 25 years ago was the booming foreign markets notably Japan when they were in an economic blast. They later tumbled and still recovering. Then you see China with a growing middle class and more wealthy folk and American muscle is appealing to them...though they cooled off but doubt for long. Then you have the super rich who buy premo cars for top prices. Watched a guy at the BJ auction spend like 1.5 million on cars notably some mopars. WTF is he doing with them? I wouldn't doubt he has a foreign buyer or two waiting to receive them...my guess anyway. As for buying vs restoing...buying is likely going to be a lot cheaper as I've experienced restoing mine. I'm into 25k investment having my '63 Plymouth redone after putting around 15 or so into over the years. Somebody someday will pay half for it when I'm gone. If you buy though, know what you're looking for and at. Have an experienced body guy look it over to determine what might be lurking under a shiny paint job.

nobody is buying. sellers are sitting on cars too long.
bring cash and knock 5k right off the top.

that is because most out there is cobbed up 45 plus yo junk
go find real a nice one for under 30k and you will be looking for a long time

30 is still half of the cost of a resto. It's a buyer's market, and will continue to be so. Younger guys wait awhile, and they'll be givin' em away.

the cost of resto never had anything to do with a final value.
final value is what someone will pay for it.
all i'm saying is you can't touch a real nice one for under 30
i challenge anyone to go find one and prove me wrong.
please post them up here
the 2 best in the market right i see right now are 29999 and 38k
and both of them are questionable..
its a sellers market if you have a real nice one and imo
it is staying the same or heading upwards in the short term.

I'm still seeing a lot of rusted and parted out junk going for stupid money. These folks are putting 3,4,5 and even 10-15 k on beat to hell rusted out junk that's been sitting underneath the barn that collapsed on top of it . Then you have Joe blow that wants 200 bucks for bent up drip rail moulding. You will be miles ahead waiting for a nice complete driver for a good price rather than feeding the crack smoking junk peddling trolls

Their is no buyers market. List the car on Ebay Sweden or Japan and deliver the car to the container guys. You just need to know who to sell too. Young people in Europe and Asia also Saudi Arabia go nuts for our cars. I sold a spare Hemi Block to a lunatic from Sweden for 8000.00 plus shipping and I made him wait months until I agreed to sell. If you sell your Mopar cheap you deserve to!

True. I just sold a 2nd car to the same guy in Holland who bought my ssurvivor Charger a year & a half ago. It's currently on this container ship somewhere in the Atlantic right now.

If it's too good to be true....

It's a CL ad, who knows if it's even legit.

RC - would it be out of line to ask if you got a "pretty penny" for your cars from this guy in holland? And also how do you list theses cars- where etc? If I ever sell my GTX I had been considering going out of the country if I can't get the $$ I want in the U.S..
